Eric Whitacre is regarded as the most popular choral composer in the world today. He is a distinguished and charismatic speaker who has addressed audiences at events hosted by The Economist, Seoul Digital Forum, JCDA, UN Leaders Forum, as well as senior corporate learning groups at Duke and Harvard. His Virtual Choir digitally combines the voices of singers from around the world into a stunning global choir that transcends geography, class, background or even time zone. The most recent installment of this astonishing project featured over 8,400 voices from nearly 6,000 singers representing 101 countries. It premiered in July 2013 at Buckingham Palace in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II as part of the Coronation Festival’s Gala Performances. Eric trained at the world famous Julliard School and then began a meteoric career that has seen him writing for the BBC Proms and the London Symphony Chorus and Orchestra, among others.
